Wolf Parade

Add Date: June 17

Artist: Wolf Parade

Album: At Mount Zoomer

Label: Sub Pop

Genre: Indie rock, art rock

Comments: Since their brilliant 2005 debut LP, Apologies to the Queen Mary, the members of Wolf Parade have been involved in so many other projects (Handsome Furs, Sunset Rubdown, Swan Lake, Frog Eyes), that many of us wondered if they'd ever put out another record together again. Well, wait no longer. At Mount Zoomer, named for the studio at which it was recorded, is strikingly different from the first Wolf Parade album. But as Dan Boeckner explains: "We could have easily made another Apologies... but what would have been the point?" This record will take some time to digest, but that's generally a good thing with music. The band has warned that there are "no singles" on At Mount Zoomer. But this being radio, you need some songs to play, so check out "Soldier's Grin," "The Grey Estates" and "Call It a Ritual."
