DM Stith

Add Date: March 3

Artist: DM Stith

Album: Heavy Ghost

Label: Asthmatic Kitty

Genre: Indie, weird folk

Comments: DM Stith's Heavy Ghost kicks off with a minute-and-a-half long Department of Eagles-esque light blend of voice and guitar and out of tune piano keys or whatever else he can muster. The first proper song, "Pity Dance," kicks the album off right with its dark and its drone, and Smith is definitely a disciple of Antony Hegarty. Imagine Tom Waits and Grizzly Bear co-producing the soundtrack to a Tim Burton film. Move over, Danny Elfman. Start with tracks 2 and 4.
