Plushgun

Add Date: February 17

Artist: Plushgun

Album: Pins & Panzers

Label: Tommy Boy

Genre: Electro pop

Comments: This is directly from the Postal Service school of synth-driven indie pop, but Daniel Ingala's songwriting is better than most other imitators. Allmusic.com also compares Plushgun to the Notwist; while Pins & Panzers doesn't stack up to anything by those German pop masters, they at least seem to be striving for that level. What they have made, however, is a very catchy, foot-tapping, radio-friendly debut album, which should be consolation enough. Many of you will remember "How We Roll" and "Just Impolite" from a fall EP, both of which resurface here and are two of the LP's stronger tracks. Also check out "Dancing in a Minefield" and the acoustic guitar-laden "Let Me Kiss You Now (And I'll Fade Away)."
