Comments: This L.A. based quintet makes big rock with no-nonsense pop sensibilities. According to Lollipop Magazine, "Cool drips off these warm-toned, lazy tunes like a whiskey waterfall into a bong basin." Recommended for fans of Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers and Foo Fighters.

With Villains MDM seems to be the heir apparent of the Queens Of The Stone Age legacy, just like Incubus inherited Faith No More with S.C.I.E.N.C.E. Both albums sound like something the aforementioned bands would have done with their music if they were trying to escape their own prison. And please don't accuse me of blasphemy, I don't compare Incubus as a whole to Faith No More. But there's no denying that S.C.I.E.N.C.E. was an interesting and imaginative album that Incubus never quite managed to repeat and Faith never got to do. Likewise, as much as I like Era Vulgaris, Villains sounds more like what I would have wanted to hear from Queens last year. I don't expect everybody to agree with me but I stand by my words and I'm available for fistfights all week next week.
I have a feeling MDM is getting there... Villains is pleasant to listen to while the guys don't shy away from experimenting with different styles... they seem to be more and more finding their tune. What started nicely with "Say my name... Now say it again", finds an elaborate continuation in Villains. Hope they will stick together for long enough to realize the spectacular potential they have.
i agree with the last post. these guys (and gal) really have a good sound that they are realizing and cultivating. Give Villains a listen and judge for yourself but i do recommend it highly!!
MDM has been on my personal playlist since their killer Say My Name Now Say it Again. Villians
is now in heavy rotation in my studio. it would b great if they "broke through" but then again I like having htem as my own "find".
MDM music explosion in the vein of new brilliance brings colorful sound of this era.

The lead singer has amazing range and a soulful voice. I hope to hear much more from MDM.
I love this band and think they are cooler than whiskey and more sophisticated than bongs.
Such a great band! Villians is very enjoyable throughout. Hard to accomplish. Really great sound =]
The band is hard working, it is apparent, and well appreciated..
MDM has a great sound and they are only getting better. They are also phenomenal musicians—can’t wait to see them live!
