Comments: A very eclectic pop record from Paris-based duo The Do (that's pronounced like "dough"), which is being likened to acts like Bjork and The Cardigans. I find another comparison, to the Australian troupe Architecture in Helsinki, particularly appropriate, especially when matched up against that band's last record. Places Like This contained way too many ideas to squeeze into one record--and, in many cases, one song--and the same can be said for A Mouthful. But like AIH, when The Do are on, they make very, very good pop music. For the best examples of this, check out "On My Shoulders," "Tammie" and "The Bridge Is Broken."
