Artist: Mean Creek
Album: The Sky (Or the Underground)
Label: Old Flame
Genre: Rock
Comments: From the onesheet: "Mean Creek's new release, The Sky (Or the Underground), is a valiant, dynamic effort to resurrect Boston's relevance back to a time when bands like the Pixies, Lemonheads, and Buffalo Tom reigned supreme... [T]he album combines the gritty, blue-collar rock of bands like Echo & the Bunnymen and The Replacements with the boy-girl harmonies of Rilo Kiley and The New Pornographers."
I have to say that's the first time I've ever heard Echo & the Bunnymen's music described as "gritty, blue-collar rock." Anyway, start with "Light Into Dark" and "Wild Beasts."
