Comments: Second solo album from New Zealander James Milne, but first under the Lawrence Arabia pseudonym. It's a feel-good album obviously influenced by the likes of Beatles and Beach Boys, but it doesn't fail to remind us we're not in the 60s anymore and at times it surprises with its catchy, poppy sound (see "Apple Pie Bed"). To me, it seems this album comes just in time for spring. You know how some songs are great to listen to by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate in front of you? Well Chant Darling is perfect for lazy, sunny afternoons. Goodbye ugly winter, hello beautiful spring and lovely music to accompany it.
