Comments: The latest LP from David Bazan is a fine collection of melancholy, deeply personal indie rock songs. In other words, it's what we've come to expect from Bazan, dating back to a string of terrific releases as the frontman for Pedro the Lion and with his first solo project, Headphones. Sonically, Strange Negotiations is much closer to Pedro than his first Barsuk LP, Curse Your Branches; it's a full-band record, as Bazan worked with the musicians who had accompanied him on tour over the last couple of years.

For fans of ex-Barsuk greats like Death Cab for Cutie and John Vanderslice, as well as Elliott Smith and The Mountain Goats. Check out "Wolves at the Door", "People" and "Virginia".
