Comments: For a country with a total population under 320,000, Iceland churns out a disproportionately high amount of quality music. You're most likely familiar with acts like Björk, Sigur Rós and Múm, but here's your chance to discover more of the great music the island nation has to offer.

There's really not a dud among the 19 tracks on this compilation, but my favorites were the quiet folk of Ólöf Arnalds (track 6, on a song featuring backing vocals from Björk herself), the jazzy electronica of FM Belfast (2), the folk pop of Hafdís Huld (11), the pop-rock of Of Monsters and Men (1), the Wolf Parade-leaning indie rock of Who Knew (4) and the atmospheric pop of Sigur Rós collaborators Amiina (9).
