Add Date: June 7
Artist: Santah
Album: White Noise Bed
Label: No Sleep
Genre: Rock
Comments: Formed at the University of Illinois, Santah makes rock tunes that are steeped in '60s and '70s pop. But that's just the starting point. White Noise Bed, the band's full-length debut, also hints very strongly at folk-rock influences like Wilco--the LP was recorded at the late Jay Bennett's Pieholden Studios--and Whiskeytown, while slow-building, layered, hazy psychedelic tracks like "Overgrown" and "Merry Ann" (two of the album's strongest, I might add) surely owe something to Spiritualized.
All in all, a very impressive effort. Start with tracks 6, 8, 2 and 3.
