Sebadoh

Add Date: May 31

Artist: Sebadoh

Album: Bakesale (reissue)

Label: Sub Pop

Genre: Rock

Comments: Following up on some reissues of other records in the Sebadoh canon, Sub Pop is giving the same treatment to the band's 1994 album Bakesale. Depending on whom you ask, it may be the best LP from Lou Barlow (Dinosaur Jr., Folk Implosion), Jason Loewenstein and co.--though I imagine many diehard fans would probably argue for 1991's III--but it seems to universally regarded as their most accessible. The lo-fi slant of the band's early work is still noticeable, but overall it's a very polished record.

Sebadoh's sound is in the same vein as other '90s indie stalwarts like Pavement, Guided By Voices and Superchunk. The Bakesale reissue comes with a 25-track disc of outtakes, demos and B-sides, but stick to the main album and spin tracks 7, 1, 11 and 5.
