Comments: Man in Motion, the new solo LP from Gov't Mule frontman/member of the Allman Brothers Band and The Dead/phenomenally good guitarist Warren Haynes, is heavily influenced by classic soul. Says Haynes: "Soul music was my first love. The first LPs I had growing up in Asheville, N.C. were greatest hits compilations from Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, James Brown, Junior Walker, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Wilson Pickett and The Supremes."

Appropriately enough, Man in Motion is being issued by the influential Memphis soul imprint Stax Records--now part of the Concord Music Group--and, along with nine original tunes by Haynes, there's a cover of Stax legend William Bell's "Everyday Will Be Like a Holiday". Also spin the title track and "Your Wildest Dreams".
