Add Date: August 2
Artist: Aficionado
Album: Aficionado
Label: No Sleep
Genre: Rock, punk
Comments: Aficionado's debut full-length is punk-leaning rock in the grand tradition of Sunny Day Real Estate and Cursive, two of the many influences claimed by the band's seven members. Produced by A.J. Mogis, who's worked with Bright Eyes--a band that features his brother Mike--and many other Saddle Creek acts, Aficionado is a well-crafted record that's punk in all the right ways: lots of energy, great guitar work, thoughtful and emotive (but not emo) lyrics.
If you like energetic, melodic punk, then you'll enjoy (become an?) Aficionado. Start with "Stir Like Hell", "Honesty" and "The Things You Like".
