The Blue News

Add Date: August 9

Artist: The Blue News

Album: Wartime Songs (EP)

Label: Self-released

Genre: Rock, blues rock

Comments: The Indiana duo The Blue News' muddy blues rock makes them sound like a rawer version of The Black Keys. The band claims a wide range of influences, including the Keys, Robert Johnson, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers, and even R&B legends like Marvin Gaye and Al Green. "Hypnotized" is a good, poppy song, while I'd also recommend "Two Lovers" for a stronger dose of the blues.
