Comments: A spectacular sophomore release from the London band Male Bonding. The Standard Examiner had this to say about their 2010 debut Nothing Hurts: "... the hyper-kinetic trio packs loads of melody and muscle into a hook-laden blend of surging power chords and sugary harmonies. Noisy and chaotic, but always holding tight to its classic power-pop center, Male Bonding has been gaining comparisons to a certain trio of hard-rockers who busted out of Seattle more than 20 years ago."
Not much has changed since the first record, except that Male Bonding seems to be honing and perfecting its sound. The likening to Nirvana might be a stretch--not because of quality; it's just that I don't see that much similarity between the two bands' style--but the Sub Pop correlation is certainly worth noting. For fans of Wavves, No Age and Vivian Girls; try tracks 1, 4, 5, 3 and 6.
