Add Date: February 7
Artist: Chairlift
Album: Something
Label: Columbia
Genre: Rock, electronic pop
Comments: With the group down to two (founder Aaron Pfenning left after the dissolution of his relationship with co-founder Caroline Polachek), Chairlift shifts gears from its pseudo-mainstream debut album, Does You Inspire You. Something keeps with the group's debut in the alt/'80s pop sound, but with less restraint and more sincerity. Polachek lets her voice drift into unbridled emotion and gives the album an emotional accessibility not found on the debut. It's also just really pretty music. I like "Frigid Spring" and "I Belong In Your Arms".
