Comments: Kindness is British producer Adam Bainbridge, whose debut LP World, You Need a Change of Mind mixes '80s New Wave, '70s funk and '90s and '00s electronica into a synthpop mishmash that somehow winds up in the same realm as artists like Toro y Moi and Pictureplane. There are some extremely good songs here--in particular, spin the electropop standout "Cyan" and the funky, all-too-short "Gee Up"--while some of the other tunes still work in spite of some seemingly questionable risks. "Why would you open a track with a cheesy, '80s TV show-style sax line?" you'll ask at the start of "That's Alright", just seconds before you start dancing along.

Overall, this is worth a listen--in particular, try tracks 8, 5, 6 and 7.
