Comments: For a debut album, Waiting to Get Paid feels strangely familiar to me. Vocalist Alex Little has a strength to her voice that reminds me of the 80s records my dad used to play when we went for drives around the town. Many tracks on the album have that upbeat sunny tone that makes me just want to dramatically lipsync into my hairbrush, especially the single "Across the City." Another standout in the album is the eponymous track "Waiting to Get Paid." You'll like this album if you're a fan of Best Coast, Paramore, or The Beths.
