Artist: Fake Fruit
Album: Fake Fruit
Label: Rocks in Your Head
Genre: Rock, indie rock
Comments: You should listen to this album if you're looking to find the next indie rock star. Fake Fruit brings a certain life back to indie rock that I haven't heard in some time. Lead singer Hannah D'Amato's voice is as expressive as one could be, leading the album with anger and vulnerability in "No Mutuals." She also masters that specific talk-sing tone that I can only compare to Courtney Barnett, though it's certainly over a much more rock-sounding set of instrumentals. I recommend this album if you're a fan of Chastity Belt, Diet Cig, or Cherry Glazerr.
