Comments: Indie rock geeks should recognize Grand Archives' guitarist, Mat Brooke, from one of those other super-indie, underground bands...Band of Horses. You might have heard of them? Yeah, I thought so. Brooke left Band of Horses after the release of Everything All the Time and formed Grand Archives. Don't listen to The Grand Archives expecting Band of Horses, though. Brooke's band takes a decidedly more alt-country, acoustic approach. The end result is a pleasant indie pop/folk record reminiscent of 70s acts. Definitely give this album a look.
