Comments: The long-awaited debut release from the Chicago duo Cool Kids is this excellent 10-track, 32-minute EP on Chocolate Industries (Lady Sovereign, Ghislain Poirier). The Cool Kids have been profiled often in the mainstream media, and they performed at the 2007 Pitchfork Music Festival. Musically, they bring to mind Clipse's stunning 2006 LP Hell Hath No Fury. The Bake Sale was originally scheduled to come out last summer on the band's own Creating Art for Kids Everywhere (C.A.K.E.) label, but the release was pushed back when their popularity exploded. However, many of these tracks have been floating around for a while, so don't be surprised if you've heard "Gold and a Pager," "88" or "Black Mags" by now.
