Comments: Normally, I'm skeptical of those "RIYL" comparisons on album promo stickers. (After all, I've seen WAY too many bands compared to Radiohead.) But kudos to Death to Anders' promoter, Team Clermont, for getting this one right. By likening the band to Built to Spill, Pavement and Elf Power, the RIYL bit doesn't claim that Death to Anders are on the same level as Stephen Malkmus or Doug Martsch--just that the music might be emulating or drawing influence from such legends. Fictitious Business combines the skewed guitar rock of Built to Spill, the lo-fi sound of Pavement and the psych pop of Elf Power into a solid record.
