Album: The Cost of Living
Label: 11 Records
Genre: Folk rock
Comments: Imagine singer/songwriter meets Gogol Bordello, and you'll come close to the music of Seattle's Jason Webley. The Cost of Living is his fifth record, but the first since 2004. Terrific instrumentation from Webley and his players, including accordion, horns, piano, glockenspiel and all kinds of strings. Webley is at his best with upbeat numbers, so start with "Little Sister" and "Clear," but don't miss the quieter "Almost Time to Go" and "Ways to Love."
