Comments: Sadly, Poly Styrene--former member of punk group the X-Ray Spex--passed away this past Monday at the age of 53. Her latest and last album, Generation Indigo, is synth-happy electropop with old-school punk attitude; the traditional-to-British-punk reggae influence is still audible, as are Styrene's playful yet culturally aware and occasionally political lyrics. Overall, it's a wonderful record from a female punk legend who will be missed. Start with tracks 2, 3 and 5.
