Comments During the '90s, Toadies was a pretty good band. Their first album, Rubberneck, even had a groovy Nirvana feel. The Toadies of 2012 are much different. The band laments in the post-'90s, still playing off old tunes and lacking new inspiration. Unfortunately, this is the way many of Toadies’ contemporaries have gone. Angst, anger, and all those very '90s themes make a return in the Toadies’ fifth album, yet it all feels like old news. If you are a huge Toadies fan, you’ll like Play.Rock.Music; if you aren’t, prepare for a difficult listen.
