Comments: The Trouble With Templeton is the musical vehicle of Australian singer/songwriter Thomas Calder, but it's also become a full-fledged 5-piece band since the release of the EP I Wrote a Novel, which landed on the WLUR playlist at the end of the summer. In that review, I misidentified Calder as a British folk act--an error of geography, but not of style, as I'd still compare Calder's music favorably to the likes of Johnny Flynn and other British troubadours.

Six Months in a Cast is another solid EP that continues to show the versatility of Calder and his mates. Start with the driving pop-rock of the title track, and also check out the quieter folk number "Old Habits".
