Comments: Just about any band that's been around as long as Teenage Fanclub has gone through many musical phases. Starting out in the wave of grungy alternative rock in the early '90s, the Scottish outfit gravitated toward the Britpop craze that took over later in that decade, while modern-day Teenage Fanclub -- let's call it the Merge era; Here is the third LP that the venerable North Carolina label has released in the States -- has found a happy medium with guitar-driven power pop that would make Alex Chilton proud. And while they've dabbled in different styles, the level of quality has never dipped. For a group whose existence stretches across four decades -- and which splits songwriting and vocals duties among three different musicians -- Teenage Fanclub have remained remarkably consistent. Here is further proof.
