Du Blonde

Add Date: March 19

Artist: Du Blonde

Album: Lung Bread for Daddy

Label: Moshi Moshi

Genre: Rock

Comments: Dark and deeply modern, the most recent album from the eclectic Du Blonde (a.k.a. Beth Jeans Houghton) is a raw musical collage that deliver itself unapologetically. Colorful and sultry, this do-it-all musician has woven the unexpected with a solid rock foundation to produce an impressively composed second full album release. Coffee Machine begins swiftly with a distinct melancholy, undoubtedly due to Houghton's highlighted vocals. By Baby Talk, the album has picked itself off the ground and started running towards garage rock (if the garage was in a haunted cinema set mansion). Houghton's experimentation never takes her fully off the tracks, however, and the album is concise in all its haphazard authenticity. A good listen for fans of modern alternative that touches the rougher edges of guitar sound.
