Comments: Wild Belle's newest release, sees the duo incorporating some of their older sounds into breezy, light tracks and tune-up energetic tracks alike. The deliberate instrumentation is clear throughout, especially like on "Mockingbird" with its alternating sax lines and reggae-style beats. Paired with incredible production, this makes for tracks that change energy from verse to verse without feeling played out. Reggae beats and sax lines don't reign supreme, though; soul, funk, and ska sounds are all blended in to create one of the most unique pop sounds out right now. "Rocksteady" is a great example of this blend - delicate lyrics and psyched-out sampling play with guitar, sax, and dub electronic lines. Everything comes together like puzzle pieces to create a one-of-a-kind sound that is really worth a listen.
