Comments: I think it is safe to say that this is Wilco like we haven't heard them before. This their 11th studio album shows a more hopeful side to Wilco. A lot of their past albums have focused on feelings of fear and limitations in life, but this album has the complexity behind it that life requires. Even when their songs have sadder lyrics like "Before Us" does, the simplicity combined with intense mood coming from the vocals evokes joy. This album reminds me of when you've had a rough day and you can't help but cry, but in the midst of that your friend makes you giggle. Hope in anything. This album is absolutely beautiful and I really suggest giving it a listen, especially if you enjoy hushed and simplistic beauty.
