Comments: Boston singer/songwriter John Paul has the backing, quite literally, of Ryan Adams & the Cardinals percussionist Brad Pemberton, who compares his songwriting to that of both Mr. Adams and Paul Westerberg. (Pemberton might be a bit biased, as he plays drums on this record.) And while I wouldn't go that far, John Paul is heading in the right direction on Belmont Boulevard.
