Comments: Self-released electronic records tend to be pretty hit or miss - you never really know what you're going to get. That's why I was really pleasantly surprised by MICHL's debut self-titled EP. This is a remarkably nuanced and smooth sounding collection of tracks that bear a strong resemblance to a bunch of the downtempo electronic and rock acts of today (a bit of James Black, a dash of Civil Twilight, etc). The songs are varied and interesting and feature some fantastic vocal sampling (one of my favorite things to hear on electronic music). This is a great collection of songs that deserves to get some serious spins!
