Comments: I've been hearing a lot about Local Natives as of late. The lead-up to the release of their album has included playing a live acoustic set on an airplane among a handful of other publicity stunts. Well, the album that has been the impetus for these stunts is finally upon us. At its best the album is a fun, lighthearted jaunt through a collection of easy to listen to pop rock songs with just a dash of electronica thrown in for good measure. At its worst, the album can be a touch repetitive, but only rarely so. "Past Lives" is a personal favorite of mine, but almost every song on the album is quite good and certainly fitting for any upbeat radio program.
