The Helio Sequence
Add Date: September 11
Artist: The Helio Sequence
Album: Negotiations
Label: Sub Pop
Genre: Rock, dream pop
Comments: With so many mediocre indie rock bands popping out from the musical underground, it’s been difficult for me to find one to truly get excited about. The Helio Sequence breaks through this mold with their new record, Negotiations. The music is dreamy, mellow, and intimate—reminiscent of a more mature, more intricate version of Keane’s Under the Iron Sea. I highly recommend that you sink into this record; you won’t be disappointed. As Austin Town Hall states in an album review, Negotiations “[captures] both beauty and melody simultaneously…If there was one band more people need to love, it’s [The Helio Sequence].”
Spin tracks 1, 2, 5 and 8.
